what is the purpose

we started this blog for two reasons... to house all of the links & info we compile as we build our new home... to find an architect & builder that can help us realize our dream.

we're looking to build a new home within the next two years.  there are several drivers for this decision:

• to live in the school zone of the school where my wife teaches
• a home that is designed for us and our needs
• a home that doesn't blend with all others on the block
• to prove that high-style homes can be built on a limited (but fair) budget
• to participate fully in the design and build process
• to incorporate some sustainability functions into our home

more to come... the purpose of this blog is evloutionary, just like we want the entire project to be!
